    this playlist is specific to the musical characterization (though the movie yaoi is equally good...)

    the story is the progression of their relationship as michael realizes the reality of the situation he's ended up in. this is also reflect in the genre shift, starting with more upbeat, pop-inspired sounds and shifting towards heavier industrial.

    i was also very focused on the lyrics for this mix, nearly every song is about control or the loss of it. i think it's fun...because on the surface it's entirely about michael's loss of control, which is very literal in that he is turning into a vampire and is fighting the urge to kill and feed, lol. but!! david is also struggling with a loss of control in a purely emotional sense. we have fun here.
